Table-top Siege Category
● Throw tennis balls 15 meters
● 3’ x 3’ target
● Must sit atop a 30 inch-tall, 30 inch
wide table
Field Siege Category
● Throw 500g water balloons 50 meters
● 8’ x 8’ target
● Free-standing machine
Core Rules:
✔Engines to be powered by rope torsion, gravity/counterweights,
✔Natural wood elasticity, or combination thereof.
✔Modern metal fasteners and hardware, decorative metal cladding
X No springs, no elastics (rubber, latex, bungees, etc)
X No fiberglass, no carbon fibre
X No chemical, compressed gas, or combustible propellants
Safety is the primary concern. Machines must be designed to fail
without risk of injury to operators or spectators
Each machine will be allowed 3 practice shots followed by 5 scored shots per round.
The number of rounds is dependent on the total number of entrants.
Entries will be judged on:
● Accuracy - proximity to target (50%)
● Consistency - grouping (25%)
● Craftsmanship (period accuracy, artistry, engineering, innovation) (25%)
● Additional People’s Choice award based on a public vote
